The Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ) is a validated self-report measure consisting of nine questions which provide information about the five components that have been found to underlie the cognitive representation of illness. These five scales assess perceived identity, cause, time-line, consequences, and cure control of illnesses. The Illness Perception Questionnaire is designed for people aged 13 years and older and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
